HP Laptop Hard Drives – Notebook Hard Drive Replacement For HP

Another important precaution, for the replacement of HP notebook hard drives, is to be sure that the laptop is powered off and the battery is removed. Also, discharge any power that may have been retained in the device, along with any static electricity that may have been accumulated. Many professionals choose to wear an anti-static wristband, to prevent from damaging the device during maintenance procedures.
The next step in notebook hard drive replacement for HP, is to loosen the two Phillips-head screws securing the hard drive cover to the bottom of the notebook. With a flat-edged tool, lift the inside edge of the HP laptop hard drive cover, and remove the unit. Remove the two additional Phillips-head screws that secure the hard drive to the HP laptop enclosure.
Then, before the replacement of the notebook hard drive for HP devices, slide the hard disk drive toward the outside edge of the enclosure, and disconnect the hard drive from the system board connector. HP laptop hard drives should be carefully slid out of the enclosure, and placed in a static dissipative package. After the unit is removed, the installation of the replacement notebook hard drive for HP devices can be performed.
New HP laptop hard drives should be supplied in its own, static-free packaging, and ready for installation. To insert the new hard drive, push the unit toward the inside of the enclosure until the connector is seated properly. Replace the two Phillips-head screws that secure HP hard drives to the base enclosure. Also replace the hard disk cover, onto the enclosure, and snap the outside edges into position. Once the screws are replaced, the battery can be re-inserted, and the notebook hard drive replacement for an HP device is complete.
